COOKING & PREPARATION:
1. Preheat your oven or deep fryer: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat the oil in a deep fryer to the recommended temperature indicated on the packaging.
2. Arrange the chicken Karaage: Take the frozen chicken Karaage and arrange them on a baking sheet or prepare them for frying in the deep fryer. Ensure they are evenly spaced and not overcrowded.
3. Oven method:
– Place the baking sheet with the chicken Karaage in the preheated oven.
– Bake them for the time specified on the packaging, usually around 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. You may need to adjust the baking time based on the size and thickness of the Karaage.
– Flip the Karaage halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning.
– Check for doneness by cutting into a piece to ensure it is fully cooked and there is no pink meat inside.
4. Deep frying method:
– Carefully lower the frozen chicken Karaage into the hot oil in the deep fryer.
– Fry them for the time specified on the packaging, usually around 5-8 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Adjust the frying time if needed, based on the size and thickness of the Karaage.
– Check for doneness by cutting into a piece to ensure it is fully cooked and there is no pink meat inside.
5. Drain and rest: Once cooked, remove the chicken Karaage from the oven or deep fryer. Place them on a paper towel-lined plate or wire rack to drain excess oil. Let them rest for a few minutes to cool slightly before serving.
6. Serve and enjoy: Chicken Karaage is typically served as an appetizer or main dish. Garnish with some sesame seeds and serve with a side of steamed rice, a fresh salad, or your preferred dipping sauce, such as soy sauce or mayonnaise.
