COOKING & PREPARATION:
1. Thaw the beef cubes: Bring the cubes to Room Temperature:
– Remove the beef cubes from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. Allowing the cubes to warm up slightly ensures more even cooking.
2. Searing method:
– Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.
– Add a small amount of oil or butter to the pan and allow it to heat up.
– Once the oil is hot, add the thawed beef cubes to the skillet, ensuring they are in a single layer.
– Sear the beef cubes for about 1-2 minutes on each side until they develop a brown crust. This will help lock in the juices and enhance the flavor.
– Remove the cooked beef cubes from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
3. Stir-frying method:
– Heat a wok or a large skillet over high heat.
– Add a small amount of oil with a high smoke point, such as vegetable or canola oil.
– Once the oil is hot, add the thawed beef cubes to the wok or skillet and spread them out in a single layer.
– Stir-fry the beef cubes for approximately 3-5 minutes, tossing them frequently to ensure even cooking and browning.
– Adjust the cooking time based on your preference for rare, medium-rare, or well-done beef.
– Remove the cooked beef cubes from the wok or skillet and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
Note: Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of the beef cubes and your desired level of doneness. It’s essential to monitor the internal temperature of the beef using a meat thermometer. The safe internal temperature for cooked beef is 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare, 160°F (71°C) for medium, and 170°F (77°C) for well-done.
