COOKING & PREPARATION:
1. Thaw the spareribs: If the barbecue spareribs are frozen, it’s recommended to thaw them in the refrigerator overnight. Place the frozen spareribs in a sealed bag or container to thaw. Thawing the ribs beforehand ensures even cooking.
2. Preheat your oven or grill: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) or preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
3. Prepare a baking sheet or grill: Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup or prepare the grill by oiling the grates to prevent sticking.
4. Cook the spareribs:
– Oven method: Place the thawed spareribs on the prepared baking sheet. If desired, you can brush them with your favorite barbecue sauce for extra flavor. Bake them in the preheated oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the meat is tender and pulls away easily from the bones.
– Grill method: Place the thawed spareribs directly on the preheated grill. Grill them for about 1 to 1.5 hours, turning occasionally, until the meat is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). Brush them with barbecue sauce during the last few minutes of grilling for added flavor.
5. Rest the spareribs: Once the spareribs are cooked, remove them from the heat source and let them rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute within the meat.
6. Slice and serve: After the resting period, slice the spareribs into individual ribs or smaller portions. Serve them with your favorite barbecue sauce on the side, along with coleslaw, cornbread, or other desired sides.
